Simple Organizing Tips for 2026

New year, new me… right? Do people actually keep that in mind throughout the whole year?

Organizing and decluttering is always on the top of the New Year resolution list and we here at Kenyon Noble are in the resolution solution business! No matter how big or small the job or the project is, we are here to help you with ALL the things you can do throughout the year! When it comes to organization and decluttering, here are some quick steps we have found helpful:

‍

  1. Start small - go through that junk drawer! - We know you have one, the drawer with the tape, receipts, pens, lighters, random screws, batteries and so many other random things! Designate that drawer for a specific use and find homes for the other items. (or use the garbage!)
  2. Keep, Donate, Toss - Have everyone in the family go through their closet. Keep items you wear often, if you are unsure ask yourself, “have I worn this in the past year?” if the answer is “no”, put it in the donation pile! Have someone your size or friends that you promised :first dibs” - set those things aside. Same with kiddos, cousins and family friends, sometimes the kids' clothes can easily be upcycled. Toss things passed the fixable stage - socks or underwear with holes or you just hate!
  3. Keep, Donate, Toss - Do the same as step 2 but do it for your games, linens, and coat closets!
  4. Pantry Clean out - Go through your pantry and fridge and throw away those expired cans and empty sauces! Try your best to go through as much food as you can before going to the store! This saves money as well, so get to it!

‍

These steps are simple, they also can be scheduled throughout the year, for instance a “Spring & Fall Cleaning”. There are many other things to do to get your home organized, but these are the more simple ones that make a HUGE difference in your home and help declutter your busy brain.

‍

Another thing you can do that takes a bit more work is getting your space (garage, closet, pantry) ready for new shelves, drawers and layout! We recommend Organized Living and Freedomrail to organize your space because you create the organization plan for your space. One that works for you and your family, or what you need and want!

‍

Check it out at your local Kenyon Noble.

‍

Cheers to a cleaner, and more organized YOU in 2026!
